yogi. artist. healer. lover.

Hi. This is my yoga story.

I was born and raised in the corn fields of the midwest in Ames, Iowa.  I attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a BFA in Acting. In 2012 I packed everything I owned into my toyota matrix, and with Dad in the passenger seat, made the big migration west. After about a year of running around, figuring things out, and life by trial and error, I finally realized I was calling Los Angeles my home.

I began my yoga story when I was 16. Like many practitioners, my practice began with physical curiosity and injury management. As my practice deepened I found the mental clarity, spiritual, and emotional growth that grounded me into developing a life long love for yoga. As yoga healed and uplifted me, I began to realize I wanted to share this opportunity for change and restoration with others.  I took my first teacher training in January 2014 through Yogaworks with Carolina Goldberg and Jeanne Heileman.  This was a truly transformative experience.  I felt like I had woken up for the first time, and never looked back.  I began teaching privately and publicly in various places around the Los Angeles area.  In August of 2015 I began my 300 hour teacher training, once again through Yogaworks, studying again under Carolina Goldberg.  Just like my 200 hour teacher training, this was an immensely formative and transformational six months.  It was during this program that I dove into the detail, intensity, and healing power of the chakras and developed my Chakra Yoga program and workshops. It is with gratitude, love, and excitement that I go into this next phase of my yoga story. I welcome any and all into my journey, in any capacity.

With love,

Laura
